WHEN DID YOU KNOW YOU WANTED TO BE AN ACTOR?

When I was in primary school, we had a Year 6 performance. I think it was The Lion King, and it was my first taste of what it feels like to do something like this (acting).

It felt good, and it planted the seed. That seed was watered in secondary school. I get lost in the moment and escape from my normal life, and I’ve always loved movies.

Chris Tucker was one of my favourite actors growing up, along with Will Smith, Denzel Washington, and Leonardo DiCaprio. They made me feel like this was something I would love to do.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST ACTING JOB?

I did a two hander in Battersea, Theatre 503. The play was called Shiver Man. It was intimate just me and another person on stage and it felt like, woah, I’m actually doing this.

It was unpaid, but the experience was great.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM ROLE?

To be a superhero in Marvel.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE THE REJECTIONS AND SETBACKS?

GOD. Because if it ain’t for Him… but it’s believing that you’re doing what you are meant to be doing, that’s what helps me continue. Because if you don’t believe you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing, then you will get knocked off it real quick, because you will start to doubt your purpose.

It didn’t happen, there is nothing you can do but pull your socks up and go again, and that’s where my mindset always is. God’s plan, God’s will come to pass.

ARE YOU SUPRISED THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN RELEASED?

AH! God you see my heart! Because if she (Bunmi) called me again I would have moved to Dubai. no but seriously, we have filmed stuff in the past, but you never said "this is the date for release", but this time I said it going to happen!

bam

HOW DO YOUR DRAWINGS INFLUENCE YOUR FILMMAKING?

So it actually starts with music. I use music to uncover what story I want to tell and I started to hear conversations and build my script from there. Once I have the story I am able to see the characters and drawing them lets me know that making the film can be a reality.

WHAT DOES “BUILDING YOUR OWN TABLE” MEAN TO YOU?

It means not waiting on a yes, from anyone or for someone to write the story I'm waiting to see. For me,  I have recognised and accepted that I have the ability to create and I have a bigger mission now, so I'm no longer waiting for an invitation. I've got my yellow hard hat on and I'm building my table.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM ROLE?

My dream role is to be on Broadway, to act, sing and move around is my dream. I'd also love to explore the genre of Drama on all stages, film, theatre and TV.

ARE YOU SURPISED THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN RELEASED?

YES! And no. This is actually my second official time filming this. I am very critical and overprotective of my work, so it took a while but I'm just glad its finally out and now its the road to the feature film!
